Conflict in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, which began in November 2020, has brought about a security and humanitarian crisis that has seen civilian killings, mass displacement and escalating food insecurity, with 56,000 Ethiopian refugees fleeing to neighbouring Sudan.Sir Mark Lowcock, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, discusses the current humanitarian situation in Tigray and priorities for supporting relief efforts.
