Onchocerciasis or river blindness, caused by the filarial parasite Onchocerca volvulus, is one of the 13 neglected tropical diseases selected by the World Health Organization (WHO) for elimination or control as a public health problem. The combined use of rOVOC3261 with OV-16 improved serologic assessment of O. volvulus infection, a current unmet need toward the goal of elimination of transmission of O. volvulus.
