
Psychologists say they can't meet the growing demand for mental health care

56% of U.S. psychologists have no openings for new clients, reflecting strong demand and a need for longer treatment times, per an annual survey by the American Psychological Association; the issue of high demand but limited number of psychologists “is not a sustainable solution to addressing the mental health crisis in this country,” said an APA official.
