Climate Change: Mechanisms of Action on Health
With catastrophic droughts, historic floodings and heatwaves, air pollution episodes, and giant forest fires affecting populations across the globe, the reality of climate change is undeniable. For decades, researchers have alerted us to the impacts of these events on human health. However, partly because of their complex multidisciplinary nature, there are knowledge gaps in understanding the mechanisms linking such climate-related events and human health. Deciphering these mechanisms is key to develop and evaluate appropriate adaptation and mitigation strategies. This Series from eBioMedicine seeks to better understand interactions between climate change, air pollution, allergens, pathogens, chemical exposures and human health. In addition, we chose to invite a few scientists and clinicians to share their stories in the form of letters to inspire us all to take further action, beyond research.
